Help and contact
A question, an object read wrongly, a subscription to cancel: it is all handled here, and the rest by email. One person reads those messages, and it is the person who writes the app.
Contact us
Write to contact.estimationobjet@devolim.fr. We reply within three working days. For a technical problem, please include your device model, your OS version and, if possible, a screenshot: it saves a round trip. You can also write from inside the app, through Settings, About, Contact us: the app version is attached automatically.
Frequently asked questions
How does the app arrive at a price?
Your photos are analysed by an artificial intelligence model that identifies the object, its material, its likely period and its condition. For objects likely to have some value, it then searches for comparable sales, both live listings and completed sales, and derives a range from them. The confidence level shown depends on how many comparables were found, how well they agree and what is still missing.
Are my photos kept anywhere?
No. They are sent for the duration of the analysis and then deleted: they are stored in no database and are not used to train a model. The photos you see in the app are the ones on your phone, and they do not leave it. The detail is in the privacy policy.
Do I need an account?
No, and there is none. No email address, no password. That is also why your objects live on your phone and nowhere else.
I changed phone, where have my objects gone?
Your objects follow your phone backup. On iPhone, restore your iCloud backup on the new device and the records and photos come back. On Android, the automatic backup restores records and settings, but not photos, which the system excludes. Before changing device, you can also export your objects from Settings, Your data, Export my objects.
Is the app paid for?
Part of the usage is free, with no account and no card details, and subscriptions unlock further features. What is included, the durations and the prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase: they may change, and the store always prevails.
The estimate looks wrong, what should I do?
First take another photo of the hallmark, the signature or the underside of the object, and answer the questions asked: that is what changes the result the most. If the record is still plainly off, write to us with a screenshot: this feedback is used directly to correct the app. And keep in mind that an estimate is an order of magnitude, never a certainty, as the disclaimer explains.
Can I use it for insurance or for an estate?
No. An estimate produced by the app has no official value and is not valid for insurance, for an estate, for a tax return or in court. For those purposes, see an auctioneer, a judicial officer or an expert.
What is ephemeral mode for?
For looking at an object that is not yours without leaving anything behind. An ephemeral estimate is saved nowhere, not even in the history: close the record and it is gone.
Manage or cancel a subscription
Subscriptions are managed from your store account, not from the app:
- iPhone and iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
- Android: Google Play › menu › Payments and subscriptions, or play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. For a refund, go through reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play support: the store collects the payment and issues the refund.
If you change device, open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore purchases: your subscription is found again through your store account.
Delete my data
The app creates no account, so there is no account to delete. Your data is erased in two ways:
- From the app: Settings, Your data, Delete my data. Objects, collections, photos, history and conversations are erased from the device, permanently.
- By uninstalling the app: everything it held goes with it.
On the server side, all that remains are technical items linked to an anonymous identifier: anti-abuse counters erased after three days, the estimate entitlement and subscription status, and the estimate record cached for thirty days, linked to a digital fingerprint of the photos rather than to the photos themselves. To ask for these to be deleted sooner, write to contact.estimationobjet@devolim.fr quoting the technical identifier of your installation: it is shown at the bottom of the settings, under the version number, and tapping it copies it. Without it, we have no way of finding what concerns you.
Report a problem or an error
A plainly absurd estimate, an object read wrongly, a sale link that no longer opens, a translation mistake: write to us, with a screenshot if you can. If you believe a record infringes a right, in particular a trade mark or a work, say so in your message: the request is reviewed without delay.
